Below are the helpful links our clients at Grace S. Clark, CPA ask for most often. Whether you are checking the status of a refund, downloading a state or federal form, or confirming a filing deadline, these helpful links take you straight to the official government source instead of a third-party summary. Every resource listed here is a government website, so what you find is current and authoritative.

Helpful Links for California State Taxes

Helpful Links for Federal Tax Filers

The Internal Revenue Service publishes every federal form, instruction booklet, and filing deadline your return may require. These helpful links cover the two requests we hear most from individual filers in Corona and throughout Riverside County.

Helpful Links for Business Owners and Trustees

Business entities and fiduciaries carry reporting obligations that go beyond the annual tax return. The Financial Crimes Enforcement Network administers beneficial ownership and foreign account reporting requirements that reach many small businesses and trusts.

Filing Deadlines and Where to Confirm Them

Deadlines shift when a due date falls on a weekend or holiday, and California disaster declarations have moved filing dates more than once in recent years. Rather than publish dates that may change, we point clients to the helpful links above, where the IRS and the FTB post the current year calendar. Individual returns are generally due in mid-April, calendar-year corporate and partnership returns earlier in the spring, and exempt organization returns in mid-May, with extensions available in most cases.

How to Use These Helpful Links Safely

Before you enter anything personal, check that the address in your browser ends in .gov. Both the IRS and the Franchise Tax Board publish warnings every filing season about lookalike sites and emails that copy their logos. The helpful links on this page point only to official agency pages, so bookmark them and start from here rather than from a search result or a link in an email.

Neither agency will call, text, or email to demand immediate payment, and neither one accepts gift cards, wire transfers, or cryptocurrency. Real notices arrive by mail and reference a specific tax year and form. If something claims to be urgent, that by itself is a reason to slow down and call us.

The refund trackers need three pieces of information to return a result: your Social Security number, your filing status, and the exact refund amount from your return. Enter the amount exactly as filed, including cents, or the tool will report that it cannot find your record. E-filed returns generally appear in the system within a few weeks; paper returns take considerably longer, and amended returns longer still.

Keep a copy of anything you download. Transcripts, confirmation numbers, and payment receipts are much easier to save at the time than to reconstruct a year later. If a lookup gives you an answer you did not expect, or a notice arrives that you do not understand, bring it to us before you respond. Call 951.399.2675 and we will read it with you.
